Child and Family Development Center

In a collaborative effort with the Family & Consumer Studies Department, the Child and Family Development Center (CFDC) is a NAEYC accredited Montessori inspired child care center that provides excellent care for children, quality learning experiences for families, and hands-on training to university students.  The design of the CFDC program and physical structure of the classrooms facilitate children, parent, student, and teacher education.  The center also provides research opportunities for university faculty and students interested in studying young children and families.

Divided into three classrooms, the "Nido" room (12 to 24 months), "Piccolo" room (24 to 36 months) and "Bambini" room (3 to 6 years), the CFDC serves universtiy faculty and staff, as well as the community.

The CFDC is located on University of Utah's President's Circle in the historic Alfred Emery Building the Child and Familiy Development Center Lab School has provided excellent care to children, quality experiences for families, and hands-on training for our university students since 1930.
