Dr. Daniel Carlson is a family demographer and sociologist whose research examines the family processes and their consequences for social inequalities, determinants of parents' divisions of labor and the consequences of gendered labor divisions for family health and well-being. His research also addresses parents’ gendered divisions of labor and the impact of these divisions on health and well-being. His recent work investigates the structural and policy factors contributing to shifts in parents' divisions of labor during the COVID-19 pandemic and the ramifications of these shifts for gender equality.
