Most people ask: "what can I do with this major"?
A better question is: "what do you want to do with this major"?
Students who graduate with a Bachelor's Degree from the Family and Consumer Studies
department have a incredibly wide range of job opportunities. We encourage students
to think early on about what career opportunities they would like avalabile to them. Then our
Academic Advisors, Career Coaches, and Internship Coordinator can help students find a combination of classes, internships, research etc. that
qualify them for the jobs or graduate programs that fit their interests. We recognize
that students need some information about career options to "get the wheels turning".
Below you can link onto the University of Utah Career and Professional Development
webpage and we have also provided a few examples of careers our alumni have gone on
to work in, this is by no means an exhaustive list of all our graduates can do, it's
just a startig point to begin a bigger conversation. To continue the conversation
we encourage you to connect with a Career Coach who can help you explore even more options and then start narrowiing things down
to the options that fit best.
